Dr. Galina Nikolskaya, M.D. is dual-board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Medical Specialties. She specializes in Traumatic Brain Injury, neurological injury, nerve and spinal cord injuries, concussion and post-concussion syndrome. Her education includes: a BA from Case Western Reserve University, a Medical Degree from Wright State University, a Neurology Residency at UC San Diego Medical Center and a Neurophysiology Fellowship at Harbor- UCLA Medical Center

Dr. Nikolskaya is an Associate Staff Neurologist at Harbor-UCLA, where, she also teaches. She has an active private group practice in Long Beach and additionally evaluates and treats patients at a Traumatic Brain Injury clinic in Orange, California. She has published on traumatic brain injury in a Journal of Biological Psychiatry and co-authored an article that explored FGD-PET regional glucose abnormalities in white matter in civilian impact and military blast-related mild traumatic brain injury. Dr. Nikolskaya also co-authored a review article on Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia in the Current Pain Headache Report journal. She is an active member of American Academy of Neurology.

Joseph Ghitis, M.D

Dr. Joseph Ghitis, M.D. is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology, from which he also received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. Through his training and experience working at several Level I Trauma centers, he has gained considerable skill assessing and diagnosing complex cases, which he has carried over to his work as an expert witness, providing comprehensive and well-reasoned imaging interpretation and analysis as well as clear and concise expert testimony.

Dr. Ghitis completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Basis of Behavior. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He went on to successfully complete his Radiology Residency at the Medical College of Virginia, followed by a Neuroradiology Fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Ghitis has been in private practice for nine years and currently maintains a practice as an independent radiologist reading for multiple imaging centers. He is licensed in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas and Virginia.

Daniel Alan Plotkin, M.D., M.P.H.

Daniel A. Plotkin, MD, MPH, PhD is a geriatric psychiatrist with over 30 years of experience in providing clinical care, developing and leading clinical programs for older adults with mental health conditions (including dementia), and providing expert medical-legal services. He is Board certified in general psychiatry and in geriatric psychiatry, and he is a member of the clinical faculty at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) David Geffen School of Medicine, as a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences, where he continues to teach and supervise psychiatric residents and geriatric psychiatry fellows. Dr. Plotkin was the first Director of the UCLA Alzheimer’s Disease & Memory Disorders Service, and he served on the full-time faculty at UCLA before taking an executive leadership position with a non-profit mental health agency. Dr. Plotkin continues to publish peer-reviewed articles/chapters concerning the mental health of older individuals: he is lead author of “Assessing Undue Influence” in The Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (2016) and Section Editor of Mental Health Issues and Disorders in Elderly Patients, Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual, 2nd Edition (2017). He is a member of The New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, and he has published and gives presentations on the benefits of psychotherapy for older adults. Dr. Plotkin has provided expert medical-legal services in hundreds of cases over the decades, mainly involving assessment of testamentary and other capacities (e.g., contractual) in older adults, elder abuse, vulnerability to undue influence, and need for conservatorship. He continues to provide clinical and expert services in his private practice in West Los Angeles.

David H. Stern, M.D.

David H. Stern, M.D. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Geriatrics. He received his medical degree from SUNY Medical Center, Brooklyn N.Y. in 1967 and served his Internship and Residency at Kings County Hospital, also in Brooklyn N.Y. Dr. Stern is a retired Clinical Instructor in Medicine at U.C.L.A. Department of Medicine. He has a private Geriatrics practice in Encino, California and also serves as Medical Director at both the Silverado Memory Care Assisted Living Facility and the ONEgeneration Adult Day Care Health Care Program.

Dr. Stern makes several presentations each year reviewing dementia disorder, healthy aging and the aging gut. Some of his specific presentations have covered topics such as “Dementia, Depression, and Substance Abuse in the Elderly, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, Diagnosis and Management of Geriatric Syndromes and Nursing Home-Acute Hospital Interface”. In 1972 he received the Rorer Award from the Gastroenterology Research, Southern California Society. Dr. Stern has also been a co-author for several publications dealing with Gastroenterological subjects.
